Alexis and David Brett are the first British couple known to have ten children in a row. After becoming the mother of her first son when she was 22, Alexis had nine more babies in the next 15 years, all boys. She and her husband David became the first British couple to have ten children in a row. But now something truly amazing has arrived at Brett’s house: a girl.
Alexis, 39, told The Mail portal: ‘We are over the moon. I had expected to hear that we were having another child, but when I found out that she was a girl, my face was a complete smile. I was surprised but delighted. The birth of his daughter, named Cameron after actress Cameron Diaz, has already had a notable effect on the lives of his siblings, who range in age from 17 to two.David, 44, said: ‘She already is having a good influence on the children.
They have generally been much better to her, trying to keep quiet in case they wake her up.’ The couple hopes that when her daughter needs her own room, her older siblings will have homes of their own. For now, Cameron will have a crib in her parents’ room. Cameron’s arrival weighing in at 7lb 2oz marks the completion, the couple insist, of their extended family, which includes Campbell, 17, Harrison, 16, Corey, 14, Lachlan, 11, Brodie, nine, Brahn , eight, Hunter, six, Mack, five, Blake, three, and Rothagaidh, two.
“We’ll definitely stop now,” laughs Alexis.
