When you think of Leonard Cohen’s famous tune “Hallelujah,” you probably envision him both singing and playing the tune on the piano. Well, this street artist that we bring you today decided to make his own version of this song, but in a way that nobody had done before.
The different versions of this number are quite frequent. After all, it’s a beautiful song with the potential for many lovely harmonies and the like. We have seen versions with guitar, in an orchestra, and even a cappella. But we’ve never seen a performance quite like this. The different versions of this number are quite frequent. After all, it’s a beautiful song with the potential for many lovely harmonies and the like. We have seen versions with guitar, in an orchestra, and even a cappella. But we have never seen an interpretation similar to this one. For this, this street musician has chosen a unique and different instrumental for the song: glasses full of water. Surely you have seen or know that there are people who, using glasses filled with water, are capable of interpreting songs, and I even once saw a person create a note by circling the edge of a partially filled glass of water.
But I have never seen anything like this!
Installed in a street, this artist has placed a table on the sidewalk, with 33 glasses. Each of them has been attached to the table with some kind of small cord and suction cups. Although, at first glance, all the glasses look the same, if you look closer you can see that they are of different sizes. Some of the vessels closest to the man are smaller, some at the back of the lineup are larger, others are shorter or taller. So he can create different notes and play a wonderful song with his great talent.
