When singer sensation Alex Boye teamed up with the BYU Men’s Choir, we knew in advance that the result was going to be something exceptional. Neither more nor less than some BYU College students gathered to enjoy a magical afternoon: they were going to record the popular anthem at the top of the South Fork in Provo Canyon. At the beginning of the video, only Alex appears singing, walking alone through the field. His powerful voice is captivating, but the best is yet to come.
The camera starts to zoom out and this is where the real show begins. Suddenly, the field is full of musicians and singers. The camera continues to roll forward and the magnitude ahead begins to take shape. Not only is the full choir for BYU members now, but an orchestra is joining them as well! Get ready to hear “The Lord’s Prayer” like you’ve never heard it before.
Despite the fact that you most likely do not understand the language, the message and the emotion that it transmits to us is quite clear. What do you think of this beautiful tribute? Leave your opinion in the comments.
