A man did not want to miss out on the experience, so he saved in his piggy bank to afford to travel to the Middle Eastern country and by “breaking his piggy bank”, he collected a considerable amount. Through his TikTok account (@ yorchaguilar13), Jorge Aguilar shared his excitement at witnessing the biggest soccer party in the world.
The plastic had “Qatar 2022” written on it and inside it had coins of different denominations that Jorge was collecting to add to his World Cup expenses. In the shared footage, he leaves all the contents of the container on the bed, to later begin to tell the result of his efforts. In a second video he showed the organization that he had. He separated the ten-peso coins and the five-peso coins to have better control. He then put them together in piles of 10 coins and then put them in bags with a thousand pesos (approximately $50) each. In the end, he managed to collect 32,220 pesos (around $1,640). The video where Jorge breaks his piggy bank exceeded 18.5 million views. Although it seems that with the money raised he is only enough for the planes, he already had his trip planned for months. In previous publications, the man gave evidence of how he was lining up virtual to buy tickets for the matches.
