The unique and unusual Keddo Lake has a rather shallow depth, but abundant thickets make it difficult to see at least something in it. But at the same time, surprisingly, the water is clean and transparent, has a fresh smell and is covered with abundant vegetation of lotuses and water lilies. The history of the lake is very interesting. It turns out it was formed thanks to the beavers. Two centuries ago, a river flowed in this area, which in some places had a rather narrow course. In narrow places, debris from branches and leaves periodically collected, due to which congestion formed.
Each time, in the places of congestion, the beavers strengthened the platinum from the logs, which helped to stop the flow. Soon, a small reservoir gradually formed at this place, which eventually turned into a lake. On the shore of the lake is a small town called Uncertain. Keddo is the only lake in Texas that formed naturally. Giant cypresses grow throughout the lake, which are hung with amazing Spanish moss.
They made this lake famous and attractive for tourists and nature lovers. Huge moss-covered trees hang their branches over the lake, blocking it from sunlight. Once here, a person can feel like in prehistoric times. Almost the entire reservoir is covered with duckweed, and it seems that this is a swamp. But it’s not.
The lake is filled with surprisingly clean and transparent water, smelling only of grass. In winter, the vegetation sinks to the bottom, and all the beauty begins to be reflected in the mirror of the lake, creating unique landscapes
